Graduated from the Moscow Conservatory as choir conductor and later a degree in solo singing (class of People's Artist of Russia A. Bolshakov). In 1984 he was accepted as a soloist of the Moscow State Philharmonic.

Winner of International Vocal Competition in Barcelona and of the contest named after Mussorgsky in Moscow.

Since 1992 lives and works in Germany. He made his debut in Dusseldorf in the party Rigoletto. Then he sang in the theater Bremen, Stuttgart, Dresden, Bonn, Duisburg, Karlsruhe, Mannheim, Kassel, Wuppertal, Gelsenkirchen, Oldenburg, Koblenz, Osnabrueck, Würzburg, singing Nabucco, Falstaff, Amonasro (Aida), Rodrigo (Don Carlos), Germont (La Traviata), Gianni Schicchi, Pizarro (Fidelio), Enrico (Lucia di Lammermoor), Dulkamary (Elixir of Love), Barnaba (La Gioconda), Bluebeard (Bluebeard's Castle), Boris Godunov, Eugene Onegin and several others.

In autumn 2008 he performed as Podkolesin in Mussorgsky «Marriage». Regularly gives concerts as a performer of chamber music programs, and solos in the cantata-oratorio works.
