
The young soprano Maria Litke was born in Russia in 1980. She finished her education in 2005 af having attended Rimsky-Korsakov Music College and later on the Saint Petersburg State Academy. She attended master classes with Professor Alexandrina Milcheva, Professor Elena Obraszova and Professor Irina Bogacheva.
She was engaged as soloist at The State Theatre of Opera and Ballet in St. Petersburg already in 2004 having her debut as Marguerite in Gounod’s Faust.
In 2006 she received a soloist ensemble contract with The Mikhailovsky Theatre (Saint-Petersburg) and have been singing at this theatre until present with debut as Tatiana in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin. That year she also participated in the production of operetta Silva and at a gala concert at Musashino Hall (Tokyo, Japan).
2007 gave her debut as Lisa in Tchaikovsky’s The Queen of Spades at the season opening of The Mikhailovsky Theatre, Japan tour as Michaela in «Carmen» amongst others in Orchard Hall, Musashino Hall and Tokio Bunka Kaikan.
In 2008 she sang Desdemona in Verdi’s Otello and gala concert with Jose Cura. 2009 have been a busy year with Verdi’s Requiem in St. Petersbourg, Italian Opera Gala Concert at Mikhailovsky, Beethoven 9th. In Japan at at concert hall of Tokyo and Yokohama, and the debut as Nedda in Pagliacci, the title role in Dvorak’s Rusalka.
And the recording of the vocal cycle «Songs of the Beautiful Stranger» by composer Alexander Izosimov.
In 2010 she will among others sing Rachel in Harlevy’s La Juive and Amelia in Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera.
