
Born in Kiev in 1945, Youli dedicated himself to music in his early youth. Three institutions contributed to his musical education: the national conservatory «Glier» at Kiev, the musical institute of Oufa and the pedagogical musical institute «Gnessine» of Moscow.
The young composer carries off his first successes, during his years of study, with a concerto no I for piano, an oratorio «I'll travel the Earth» as well as several instrumental and vocal pieces.
After studies at Cheliabinsk, where he composed and taught from 1974 to 1984, he worked with the symphony orchestra, the chamber chorus, the philharmonic orchestras and the chorus of Magnitogorsk. These fruitful collaborations gave birth to a series of important works. The composer also takes up, with pleasure, scene music. In 1983, he became a member of the Composers' Union of the ex-USSR.
In 1984, he continues his work in Moscow. Youli Galperin composes in many different styles: symphonies, choir works, chamber and scene music... And yet, he does not give up his work as a pedagogue in the national conservatory «Gnessine», and he takes over the musical direction of the State Theater «l'Ermitage».
Since 1991, Youli Galperin has worked in Paris, at the conservatory «Claude Debussy» and at the municipal conservatory at Ivry-sur-Seine. He collaborates on the creation of a line of chamber music with Paul Mefano , Jean Golgevit and Tiberio Popovici (conductors), Mikhael Markov (piano) and Alexander Brussilovsky (violin). He composes for Anton Quartet, writes scene music for the Theatre du Tiroir de Laval, the Kronop d'Avignon , the Compagnie Stro de Paris...
Youli Galperin cooperates to the Moscow chamber orchestra (conductor Konstantin Orbelian), Kiev chamber orchestra (conductor Roman Kofman), Ekaterinburg symphony orchestra (conductor Dmitry Lyss) and a lot of the musicians – solist from Russia and Ukraine.

The composition class takes the form of private lessons where each person's needs are taken to heart.
The general course in composition and improvisation is dedicated to students who already play an instrument (violin, piano or guitar). This course widens their view of music while improving their overall musical education. By analyzing musical works and various forms of expressions, the students access a broad range of musical and dramatic arts.
This work, based on the individual's experience, should not only make it possible for each student to progress, but to flower as well.
The special course proposes to improve on professional technique relating to composition and personal development. Based on teaching, progressively, each one of the various elements of musical language, this method is dedicated, principally, to professional musicians.
This is training of interpretation and composition, in the grand Russian tradition...

THE COMPOSER
His works, often played in Russia, are interpreted throughout Europe including France, Italy, Germany and Holland. In 1996, one of his compositions «Octavia» during the concert performer competition of the Ecole Normale de Paris «Cortot».

THE INTERPRETER
At 14 years old, Youli Galperin gave his first public concert it the Philharmonic Hall of Kiev. He has played, ever since, his own compositions and interpreted music of the 20th century. From 1978 to 1988, he recorded numerous pieces tot Radio Tchelabinsk and Radio Moscow.
The works of the musical composer Youli Galperin are vast and wide-ranging. He writes equally well for symphonic orchestra as for chamber music and has to his credit: romances, songs. Children's plays and music for films. In twenty years of activity, he has forged a unique style, creating his own original palette of music. He has now reached the level of an original, inspired and thoughtful composer who fully masters his art. His music takes root in the grand tradition of Russian music, which has always given the utmost importance to philosophy and spirituality.
