Born in Saint-Petersburg into a family of musicians. Ivan began music studies at an early age.

He studied percussion with A.J. Nikiforov at Music School nr 16 and continued his studies with P.A. Kritchashvili at the Rimsky-Korsakov College of Music and graduated with honors. During that time he has actively performed at international venues worldwide.

Immediately after graduation he was summoned to the Armed Forces. After completing his duties he entered Saint-Petersburg State Conservatory named after N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov, where he is currently studying under professor A.A. Mikhailov.

He was awarded Saint-Petersburg Government «Young talents» scholarship.
